NVIDIA and the Vietnamese government have joined hands to announce an important cooperation: to establish an AI research center in Vietnam. By building AI infrastructure and supporting related innovative enterprises, the development of artificial intelligence in Vietnam will be accelerated.

This week, NVIDIA founder and CEO Huang Renxun announced a remarkable development during his visit to Vietnam:

NVIDIA will acquire Vinbrain, a leading medical AI technology company invested by Vietnam's Vingroup Group.

Huang Renxun emphasized that this acquisition marks a further deepening of NVIDIA's layout in the field of artificial intelligence, especially in the application of the medical industry.

As a startup, VinBrain focuses on applying artificial intelligence technology to the medical field to improve the efficiency and quality of medical services. The company uses advanced technologies such as deep learning and natural language processing to develop a number of applications including image analysis and intelligent diagnosis, providing strong support for doctors' decision-making.

As of the end of last year, Vingroup Group had invested about US$5 million (VND126.6 billion) in VinBrain.

It is worth mentioning that the chairman of Vingroup Group is Phan Nhat Vuong, known as the "richest man in Vietnam". He ranks 458th on the Forbes Global Billionaires List with a wealth of US$5.9 billion.

Although Huang Renxun and Vingroup have not yet disclosed the specific amount and details of the acquisition, this news undoubtedly adds a strong touch to Nvidia's layout in the field of AI medical care.

In recent years, Nvidia's venture capital activities in the field of "AI+medical" have become increasingly frequent.

At the GTC conference in the first half of this year, Nvidia clearly listed healthcare/life sciences as a key area for the future development of AI, and its head Huang Renxun even called it the "next golden track."
