"GTA6" will support ray-tracing global illumination, with some content generated procedurally at runtime. The game will continue to use Rockstar's RAGE engine and will push the limits of real-time rendering and processing.

The screenshot is from the personal profile of Rockstar's Chief Engine Programmer, Ryan Woods, who is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of the RAGE engine for "GTA6," involving multiple aspects such as rendering, physics, AI, and memory management.

The resume mentions that "GTA6" will utilize ray-tracing global illumination technology, which will greatly enhance the game's graphical expressiveness. The PC version will have more comprehensive ray-tracing effects, while the console version might have some limitations.

"GTA6" will employ Runtime procedural generation (procgen) technology, which can help control the game's file size. This procedural generation technology is quite common in the gaming industry, mainly used for effects like vegetation and building interiors. Additionally, game characters will have unique reactions to different world events, with behaviors that are closer to real people.

Note: Ray-tracing global illumination is an advanced technology used for rendering three-dimensional scenes. It calculates lighting effects in the scene by simulating the paths of light rays, thus achieving more realistic and detailed imagery. Compared to traditional global illumination methods, such as light probes and light maps, ray-tracing global illumination offers higher precision and realism.
